Our mission is to prepare students and pupils through a systematic acquisition of relevant life skills, knowledge and expertise for a successful life. It is our belief that the children who graduate from DPS International, Ghana would acquire the knowledge and relevant skills to unlock opportunities and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

Our Vision is to equip learners in a safe, smart and healthy environment for national and global excellence. Every child matters at DPS International, Ghana. We want our children to grow and develop into well integrated citizens who are prepared for the future and therefore prepared to overcome the challenges of daily life. Our vision as educationists is to empower through provision of broad, appropriate and adequate curricular offerings by using state of the art technology to provide qualitative and functional science to all our present and prospective students irrespective of nationality, religion or tribe.

Principal

Mr. Chander Dev

Principal, DPSI Ghana

Mr.Chander Dev is the Principal of DPS International, Tema, Ghana, bringing 22 years of distinguished leadership in IB and Cambridge curricula to the school community. An experienced evaluation leader and external examiner with the International Baccalaureate, he has overseen assessment moderation, quality assurance processes, and programme evaluations that strengthened academic rigour and compliance across international schools. As an accredited Cambridge trainer, Chander has designed and delivered professional development for teachers, led curriculum mapping workshops, and supported examination readiness initiatives that raised teaching effectiveness and student outcomes.

His career spans senior leadership and curriculum roles across India and international settings, including a formative four-year tenure in Ghana, which deepened his understanding of local contexts and cross-cultural educational practices. Mr. Dev is known for strategic school improvement, student-centred pedagogy, and building high-performance teams through mentorship and data-informed decision-making. He combines deep policy knowledge with hands-on classroom insight and a commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education.

At DPS International, Mr. Dev champions academic excellence, integrity in assessment, and continuous professional growth. He prioritises creating a nurturing environment where each learner is supported to achieve their full potential and where teachers are empowered to innovate and excel.

My philosophy on educational leadership is reflected by John C. Maxwell who said, “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” I have been fortunate to have had a number of role-models and mentors who have taught me that the foundation of any educational institution is the people.

Building positive relationships within a learning community ensures that everyone in the community feels valued and respected, and when concerns or conflict does arise they can be managed in an atmosphere of trust and respect.

I believe that a learning community must have learners at their centre and this should be reflected through their mission statement, their curriculum framework and evident in every interaction within the community. It is the responsibility of educational leaders to ensure that every child’s emotional, social and academic needs are being met and that there are structures in place to support a personalised learning environment that values student agency, providing time and space for learners’ voice, choice and ownership of their learning.
